Klara N. Efner
The Long Journey
Originally from Yerevan, Armenia, Dr. Efner completed Dental School at Yerevan State Medical University over two decades ago. She moved to the United States a few years after graduation, started a family, and worked as a Dental Assistant for 9 years. At age 34, she went on to complete dental school (for the second time) at the University of the Pacific, A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, to acquire her U.S. dental credentials and licensing.
Serene Dentistry
After working as an associate for several years, Dr. Efner’s vision for creating her own practice became a reality. Serene Dentistry was born from a heart that wanted to genuinely care for and be a nurturing presence for patients in a serene atmosphere where they felt heard. Beyond serving her patient family, she is also passionate about dental outreach to underserved communities in the US and abroad.
Advanced Training & Leadership
In addition to graduating from Dental School in both Armenia and the United States, Dr. Efner completes more than 100 hours of continuing education every year. She is a Kois-trained Dentist and a member of ADA, CDA, SBVC Dental Society, Seattle Study Club, Aesthetic Excellence Study Club, Anacapa Study Club. She is also the incoming Vice President of the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society and currently serves as Chair of the Committee on Continuing Education.
Home Life
Dr. Efner loves spending time with her family, traveling, working with her hands, doing arts and crafts, and learning about other cultures and traditions. She is a certified Yoga instructor who is passionate about pursuing a lifestyle of health and fitness.

Vanesa
Vanesa, a Ventura County native, is a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist with over 15 years of experience in comprehensive preventive dental care. She earned her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Oxnard College and is passionate about educating patients on the importance of oral health while implementing effective preventive care practices.
Carole
Carole is our dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant. She takes pride in making every patient feel comfortable and cared for. With over 40 years of experience in dentistry, she has built a career rooted in kindness, professionalism, and a deep commitment to patient well-being. Despite her extensive experience, Carole continues learning and growing every day, always eager to welcome new techniques and embrace advancements in dental technology. She values progress and stays up to date with the latest developments in dentistry, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care in a modern and comfortable environment.
Mika
Mika began her journey as a dedicated certified dental assistant with Serene Dentistry in 2022. Always eager to expand her skills and take on new challenges, she gradually started assisting with front desk duties, mastering the administrative side of the practice while continuing to provide excellent patient care chairside.
Lori
With over 30 years of experience in the dental profession, Lori brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to our team. As our billing and insurance coordinator, she understands that navigating dental insurance, treatment plans and financial options can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our patients find that her expertise and attention to detail provide them with clear, honest guidance and support, ensuring they feel informed and confident in their care.
Evelyn
Born and raised in Oxnard, California, Evie is a dedicated dental assistant who completed her studies and received her certification a few years ago.
As she says: "I have always had a passion for helping others, and understand the anxiety many people feel when visiting the dentist, having once been in that position myself. This allows me to empathize with patients and create a calm, safe environment where they can feel at ease."
Wysper
Born and raised in Ventura, Wysper is a multi-talented young lady who wears multiple hats. She loves supporting our team both chairside as a certified dental assistant and at the front desk, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. In her own words:
